The first written mark about the estate is from the year 1436. Through the next 100 years the estate has been shaping the village's standing: from one side it was the example of westernised lifestyle but at the same time it become hated enemy with its hard estate work.

Till the last days of the estate 1941 there have been stopped a number of well-known noble families (Tiesenhausens, Pohlmanns, Krustestierns). Among others there have been lived brothers Kügelgens in the last years of 18th century.

Although many wars and complicated times the manse of Kodila estate that was established in 1770 has lasted since. It is a one and a half storey baroque slate building in the middle of a free-layout park.
